Dentures are indicated in situations where damage to teeth and bone are extensive and the teeth cannot be saved, or the cost of restoration is out of reach. Dentures are "false teeth." They are designed to function as either upper, lower, or a full set of teeth. Implants are meant to replace a tooth that is beyond repair for one reason or another. Dental implants are not intended for the replacement of a full set of teeth. Further, the cost is prohibitive, most of which is not covered by insurance.
