Variegated leaves are leaves that has green and non-green parts. The green parts of the leaves do contain chlorophyll, or the photosynthetic pigment used by plants during photosynthesis. Meanwhile, the non-green parts do not contain chlorophyll and therefore do not absorb sunlight.
