How to Batch Resize Photos in Fireworks
One of the products offered by Adobe when it comes to graphics editing is Adobe Fireworks, or Fw. A bitmap and vector graphics editor, it aimed at web designers, with numerous features and ideal for different tasks, such as batch resizing photos. Here’s how to do it.
What You’ll Need:
PC with Adobe Fireworks installed
Photos to be resized
Procedure:
Find Adobe Fireworks in your system and open it.
Go to the Menu bar and click on File. Go to Batch Process. A new window will appear.
Find the Look in box, so you will find your photo’s location. It can be on your G drive, a flash drive or your desktop. Make sure you know where the photos are stored even before you start, so you’ll save some time.
Pick the photos you want to resize. Click once on the first one, hold down the Control key, then click on the other photos, one by one. If you want to select them all, Click the first one once, hold down the Shift key, and then click the last one.
Find the Add button. All the photos you picked will show up at the box at the bottom of the window. Click the Next button.
Click Scale, then the Add button. Go down to the bottom part of the window to the drop down menu with Scale to Percentage. There, you can choose your percentage. Once you’ve selected the appropriate percentage, click Next.
Choose Custom Location, then click Browse, and find the folder you’ve set up for your resized image. Make sure you won’t place your resized photos in the same location as the original ones, or you will replace them.
If you don’t have a folder yet, point your mouse at Start on your Taskbar, and right click. Choose Explore, then browse to the picture folder. Right click, then add a new folder. Name it something like “Resized pics”, so you won’t become confused. Go back to Fireworks.
Click on the Batch button. A message will pop up, saying that the pictures have been Batched. Click OK.
You can open a resized photo in Fireworks, to view the actual size. Choose the percent found at the lower right of the photo. Click on 100%, and you’ll view its actual size.
