Any raw fruit or vegetable contains a lot of chlorophyll , which helps in the process of photosynthesis of those fruits and vegetables. Photosynthesis is a chemical process. Through this, the plant survives by producing food by combining sunlight , soil and chlorophyll. Without any one of these three elements, the plant dies of food poisoning. Fruits and vegetables are green in color due to the presence of chlorophyll in plants. Chlorophyll also helps keep the fruit fresh. However, after a while, chlorophyll production stops and the substance called xanthophyll increases . At that time the color of the fruit gradually changes. When fruits and vegetables have no chlorophyll, they change color completely. Even if the raw fruit is picked up and kept at home, its chlorophyll starts to be lost , so even then the color of the fruit changes. Whether the fruit will turn red after ripening or not depends on the analysis of the fruit. As a result, if the chlorophyll content is high, it turns yellow and if the carotene content is high, it turns orange. Due to its high chlorophyll content, ripe daffodils are yellow.
