Why is camphor called volatile substance ?

1 Answer

Answer :

When heat is applied to a solid, it is directly from the solid to the gaseous state called their volatile substance. When camphor is heated, it does not turn into a liquid, but directly evaporates camphor , hence camphor is a volatile substance.
