A compound composed of glycerol , fatty acids and phosphoric acid is called phospholipid. The special chemical component of phospholipids is phosphatidic acid. Its phosphate group is esterified with choline to produce lecithin. Phospholipids are one of the chemical constituents of all cellular organelles, including the cell membrane. Notable phospholipids are lecithin , cephalin , plasmogen, etc.
