What is random access memory ?

1 Answer

Answer :

Random Access Memory ( RAM) RAM is a type of medium that stores computer data. Any type of data can be "accessed" from RAM , hence it is called random access memory. The term random refers to the recovery of any data (regardless of its location) at exactly the same time. Also RAM (random access memory) is the internal memory of the CPU for storing information , programs and program results. It stores data until it is working on the machine. Deletes data when machine is turned off. Data can be accessed randomly in RAM but it is very expensive. RAM is volatile memory , which means that when the computer is switched off or the power is cut off, all the information in it is lost. Therefore , Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) is often used with computers for backup. RAM is small in terms of its physical size and the amount of information it contains.
