Most computers have one or more co-processors. A co-processor is a special type of microprocessor that can perform one or more tasks. The most common coprocessor is the Math co-processor. It multiplies the speed of mathematical calculations. Currently manufacturers include coprocessors in the main processors. For example, Intel Corporation has added a Math co-processor inside the Pentium. Examples: Intel 8087, 80287, 80387 Cyrix 83DS7, EMC87 etc.
