Sundarbans is famous for its beautiful trees. And this beautiful tree must have some special features. Halophyte is a beautiful plant . They grow in muddy and saline soils of coastal areas. Its adaptive features are: Original: 1. As the soil is saline, it does not penetrate deep into the root soil , but extends slightly below the root soil. 2. As the soil is muddy and without pores, the oxygen supply in the soil is very low. Moreover, these areas are flooded most of the time. Large amounts of inorganic salts are dissolved in the soil , so some of the plant-roots run upwards in the opposite direction of gravity and rise to the surface. The surface of these roots contains numerous fine respiratory pores or 'pneumatophores' , through which the roots absorb oxygen from the atmosphere. This type of root is called respiratory root. 3. As the plants grow in the soft and muddy soil , so that the plants do not fall easily , a kind of non-native root emerges from the base of the stem and enters the soil ই these roots are called protruding roots. 4. Some flat and plank-like parts protrude from the underside of the trunk of the beautiful tree and enter the soil. These plank-like parts are called superficial. Helps to keep the trunk of the root beauty upright. Stem: 1. Beautiful trees are short and domed , the stems are usually strong and branched. 2. Mechanical and circulatory systems are well organized in the trunk. 3. The skin of the stem has thick cuticles. The skin is often covered with a waxy substance. Page: 1. The leaves are thick , juicy and crunchy. 2. The skin of the leaves is thick and cuticle , the leaves are shiny due to the waxy coating on the leaves. The leaves have been adapted to prevent evaporation. 3. Leaf palisade bananas are well-formed and do not usually have cochlear-pores. 4. The pores are located on the inside of the lower skin.
