North America is located entirely to the North of the equator.  It lies within 7°N to 84°N latitudes. The Tropic of Cancer passes through Mexico and the Arctic circle through the northern part of Canada.  North America extends between 20°W and 180°W. It lies entirely in the western hemisphere.  North America is surrounded by the Atlantic ocean in the east, the Pacific ocean in the west, Arctic ocean in the north.  It has a land link with south America by the Isthmus of Panama.  It is separated from the continent of Asia by the Berring Strait.
