When I had the idea that I should buy a big rotary phone in ancipation of a terrific argument culminating in a probable breakup, because holding the old phone's handset and then forcefully hanging up would give me a satisfying jingle instead of the sad electronic "boop!" of a cordless phone, and the entire train of thought made me happy, not concerned. In reality, I hung up the rotary phone politely, then remembered the whole purpose of buying it and gave it a quick slam to make the sound. Was not as satisfying as I'd hoped.
