Answer :

Use a mixture of a gallon of vinegar. Cheap, white, cider, whatever vinegar and 1 pound of salt.  Mix thoroughly and put in a sprayer. Spray only the clover plants at the junction of their stems. This should kill the little stinkers in hours. If you don't spray it on other plants, they should be fine. Also safe around kids, pets and livestock.
