They are not safe to eat............hold old is the peach tree..........does it have bad roots...........was something else there some years earlier..........and it is living off the roots............you need something safe to kill it that won't hurt the peach tree........how close to the peach roots is this????  Only thing that I could think of to kill it is hot water but would it kill the peach tree.......I don't know none of our peach every had this in their area.  Maybe another farmer can answer this question?
