too much rain...................but you can cut that part off...............use that in a salad........some people have been taking them off at the orange stage and let them ripen to avoid that...it is not the same sweet taste.  But less of the tomatoe is wasted and if you cook them you can add a tablespoon of sugar to cancel the acid taste.  We put onions, peppers garlic and zucchini in our sauce and make rice or noodles or spaghetti.
