Answer :

Fall is best time to transplant....you can seperate the bulbs and transplant them into a new area in amended soil. Use some bone meal in the bottom mix of amended soil with pepper mixed in the top soil that keeps squirrels from digging the ground.  Iris like to be with Iris.........in the spring you have to pull and weeds, and I used around them black mulch to help keep the weeds down.  Good luck with your bulbs and give them some room so they can grow & devide over the winter.  You might need to do this in 3 to 5 years again.
