Answer :

I think the zucchini is ready to pick when the blossom dies. If you want it bigger, just leave it on the plant. Zucchini tastes best when it is 6 to 8 inches long. I just harvested my first zucchini' from this years plant using this principal. It was small, but delicious and tender.
