Answer :

In the wild, hamsters eat a variety of seeds, plants and insects. Pet hamsters depend on us to give them the nutrients that are necessary. Begin with a top quality commercial hamster mix. If you can, purchase organic fruits and vegetables - good for your hamster and for you too. Otherwise be sure to wash all produce thoroughly to remove pesticides and dirt. Feed your hamster little bits of fresh food daily. Don't feed citrus fruits or onions as they can cause upsets. Here are some foods that your hamster will enjoy: apples, bananas, grapes, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, bean sprouts, corn, peas, carrots, dandelion  greens, untreated grass, small pieces of chicken or turkey, a bit of boiled egg, cooked rice and potatoes , some kitten chicken kibble. You,  can also purchase dried crickets and mealyworms. A dog biscuit will help keep teeth clean. Never feed your hamster chocolate, alcoholic beverages, avocado, sugary foods as these are toxic to your pet.
