Chameleon tongues are extremely fast and extremely long. The legnth of the tongue can measure  up to 1.5 times the entire  bodylength of the reptile!  The tongue has a sticky bulb at the end and can shoot in and out of the chameleon's mouth with blinding speed. A 5.5 inch  tongue reaches full extension in 1/16th  of a second!. The most common prey of chameleons are flies and other insects!
