Just about one month after my dog had his right rear leg amputated he is now seemingly depressed and has some random difficulties breathing is it going to take him longer to recover as he is 11 years old I heard upwards of 6 months to a year

What is the reason your dog's leg was amputated? If it was due to cancer, a chest xray may be advised to rule out metastasis. In any case, your dog should be seen by a vet before the problem escalates.
