I started out working in a vet office off the street. It required mostly that I walk dogs, feed patients, clean cages. The practice I was working at helped me go to school and get an associates degree. I learned alot of backgroud information and gained a lot of skills from school. I will tell you if money is not a problem and you like working with animals, you may enjoy this type of work. Depending on where you are in the country and what type of work you are doing, it’s really hard to make ends meet on your paycheck alone. I worked in research for a few months and made decent money, but I hated the work, so I got out. It all depends. You can start at a vet office and see if you like it then go to school from there. Hope that helps.
