go to Central Park and chat up the “au pair” ladies who cover the playgrounds like snow. Many are foreign and legal but probably not permanent residents…. try and find ex-patriate associations. I had a co-worker from New Zealand and it seemed like almost every month she went to dinner with a couple of dozen other Kiwis Seems they missed eating lamb and that was the attraction. Try a place like Goethe House in Manhattan which is primarily focused on cultural exchange but also offered German language classes about 19 years ago. My teachers were all female and of differing ages. Just a couple of ideas but you will have to leave the cublcle and the monitor and hunt for them out in the city, not online. SRM
