Can anyone tell me about traveling by train from NY to Toronto?

1 Answer

Answer :

answer:I think when you purchase your tickets, the trains require you to submit certain information to them and they explain the process. You obviously have to have your passport or other appropriate form of ID to cross. I’d imagine you sit on the train and the customs agents check your ID and the information you supplied when you purchased your ticket. “Passports are checked at the US/Canadian border, there is no check-in as such in New York, Toronto or Montreal, you just need to arrive at the station in time to collect your tickets and board the train.” I found these sites that might be helpful. It sounds like a glorious trip. http://www.seat61.com/Canada.htm#Trains%20from%20the%20USA%20to%20Canada http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?c=AM_Content_C&pagename=am%2FLayout&cid=1241267400657
