Being a teenager in high school can be a very rewarding experience. This is especially true if you are involved in the community and school events. The more you get involved with doing things in your school, the more fun you will have.The easiest thing that teenagers can get involved in while they are at high school is joining a club. There are dozens of clubs at high schools that cater to almost everyone's interest. If you like writing articles and publishing, then try joining the newspaper staff. Each person that works with the newspaper has a different job and every job is important to get the paper out to students. A club that is similar to newspaper is yearbook. You get to laugh at all the goofy pictures of everyone before they are published in the yearbook. If you are one of those students who excel academically, then join a club that puts your brain to good use. These clubs often have competitions through the year and you can win trophies or even scholarships.Another great way to get involved in your school is by joining a sport. Most high schools require that you try out before joining a team, but there are spots open just about every year. Sports are also a good way to relieve the stress that you build up during the day. Practices are held in the afternoons and games are either after school or on the weekends. Some of the bigger games have dances and pep rallies before or after the game.Community service is a good way to give back to others while keeping busy. There are several ways that you can participate in community service. If you know of a senior citizen in the community you live in, make a meal for them or bake them some cookies. Have a yard sale to raise funds for a local organization that needs money or items. If there is a mother who has small children, offer to babysit for her so she can get some time to herself. There are many ways for teenagers to get involved with helping others and being a teenager at the same time.
