If you train on the job, you're most likely getting paid to do so, whereas you'd be paying the school to train you otherwise. On the job training gives you a good foot in the door for that company, gives you an opportunity to impress the employer. If you get trained at a school, you would have a class or maybe even a degree or certification that would enhance your resume.
