The unique feature of the planet is that it is tipped on itsside with relation to its orbital plane. Its poles lie nearly inthe plane, alternately pointing toward the Sun as the planetorbits. At some points in its year (84 Earth years long), up to onehalf of the planet is in night for many months. If the planet wereterrestrial, this would create a very unusual series of seasons. Aswith the half-year cycle that affects the Earth's poles, many areason Uranus would have 42 Earth years of day or night.Since the inclination is past 90° , it can be said that Uranusorbits clockwise, but its spin is still in the same direction aswhen it formed - only the tilt has changed. The composition of Uranus' atmosphere is somewhat different fromNeptune, making the planet larger and slightly less dense. So it isthe third largest, but fourth most-massive solar planet.
