i) Epicenter: The point or line on the Earth’s surface immediately above the focus is called Epicenter
ii) Richter scale: It is a quantitative base-10 logarithmic scale. It is also called as local magnitude scale(ML) a simple numerical scale to describe the relative sized of earthquakes. At the same distance seismograms (records of earthquakes ground vibration) of larger earthquakes have bigger wave amplitude than those at close distances.
