What is a roof examination?
Roofing expertise - the process of examining the quality of the work performed on the installation of roofing structures, as well as analyzing the correctness of engineering calculations. This is necessary in order to make the operation of the building safe for the people in it.
At the stage of the examination, the specialist performs a thorough inspection of the roof in order to check the level of safety of the structure, the effectiveness of the application of the selected type of coating and insulation. For this, control measurements and calculations are also carried out, data from regulatory and design documentation are compared with information that can be obtained by inspecting the object. At the same time, not only the compliance of the declared materials in the documentation with those that were actually used is analyzed, but also the quality of the work performed, the feasibility of the design decisions taken is assessed. If any defects were identified (leaks, ice crust on the surface of the roofing material), then the expert is obliged to determine the true causes of their occurrence, to designate the circle of responsible persons.
Roof expertise is coming to an endgeneral measurements and fixing the final scope of work in the conclusion. The final cost of the expert assessment depends on this. The price is also influenced by the level of complexity of the tasks, the height of the building, the number of test methods for research, etc. Usually, two weeks are given for the examination, but if necessary, the period can be extended. During this time, the expert visits the object once (in exceptional cases, several visits are allowed), and also draws up a reasoned conclusion.
The conclusion must necessarily contain a list of the grounds and tasks of the examination, general information about the object, the results of measurements, as well as a listing of the information base used during the inspection. This document is legally binding, and therefore can be used in court.
