CAPART is an autonomous body under Ministry of Rural Development, established in 1986, to promote voluntary action towards implementation of projects for enhancement of rural prosperity and to act as a catalyst for development of technologies appropriate for rural areas.

The important members of the Executive Committee of CAPART are as follows:
