This is a Rural Housing scheme to provide shelter to poor rural people who are living below poverty line (BPL). It is part credit and part subsidy-based scheme. Its objectives are

i) To facilitate construction of houses for rural families who have some repayment capacity

ii) To eradicate shelter lessness from rural areas of the country

iii) To provide shelter to rural families who have not been covered under Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) and desire to possess a house

iv) All rural households having annual income of INR 32000 are covered under this scheme.
