Answer :

Car manuals say that the car should not be towed with the wheels on ground for long or fast. It is because the 'neutral' only frees the engine from the transmission and not the transmission from the wheels. When the wheel turn, the transmission turns. This can heat up transmission, since it not being cooled because the engine is not on. So the transmission fluid pump will not be cooling the transmission and is not getting proper lubrication for similar reasons.
