Before giving any answer to this question which amuses me, permit me to rephrase the question and add a little juice to it because am finding it a bit difficult painting a mental picture. So here goes: Is it safe to run anything reasonable during a hurricane? To answer both your question and the added juice, i don't think it's safe to run anything reasonable during a hurricane, a generator included. How do you even come about such when you're all about safety during such terrifying event. Am from a free hurricane country and neither have I experienced one before. But thanks to media outlets, I've been able see live events on how devastating hurricanes are especially those places hit the hardest. Starting a generator during such time (hahaha...that's if it hasn't been destroyed already) is more like a suicide mission. The aim of a generator is to produce alternative energy to electricity, so how so we get around such when water has held everything, everyone and every place hostage.
