This all depends on where you live and how you are raised. There are some countries that serve the food on mats on the floor. They are in the middle of the mat and each person uses their hands to eat with. They may have a type of bread that is used to scoop the food out of the plates that are served in the middle of the mat. Other societies will teach a person to eat with a fork, knife, and spoon.
