Follow these steps to repair laptop keyboard 1. First find your laptop model information.  2. Order replacement keys which are damaged or not working from online shopping sites. 3. Then remove the key with the help of Pry item like butter knife or flathead screwdriver. Pry up the bottom of the key at a 45 degree angle, then pull it away from the keyboard and set it somewhere safe. 4. You need to review the carriage for bent or out of place parts. If key cap is titled or loose, try to pressing down on it see if it snaps back into place. 5. Be sure to note the position of the internal part. 6. If you see any dust or residue remove it and clean the area with a ear buds. 7. Place both the carriage and pad back in key slot in the way in which they were initially set. You may have to press down on parts of carriage to lock it into place. 8. Insert the top key into the slot at a 45 degree angle, then lower the rest of the key into slot. 9. Press down firmly on key and this will snap the key back into place.
