I had the same problem, if I remember correctly there is a little reset button on the moor assembly, Press that in and release it, That might do the trick.  also check  the code switches, you may have changed them inadvertantly when changing the battery? If that doesn't work, check with Sears repair website. they may have instruction booklet you can download. good luck.
