Hi. Because I had the horsehair of the bow already nicely covered with rosin and a bit of dust, I washed them in soapy water. I let them dry for about 5-6 hours. But now they can't be rosin at all ... I roughened the rosin because it shone like a mirror, but it's still almost impossible. Is it possible that the horsehair did not dry out properly, or did I screw something up here and I have a noose ?? I will be happy for any tips on how to rosin then. Thank you very much :)

Answer :

Bow The most basic and important principles of the bow are the following: Never tighten the bow too much during the game and always loosen it after the game to release the tension of the horsehair. If the bow is kept taut, it may lose flexibility and will no longer "play well", especially with cheaper bows. It is possible to have the bow re-tensioned, but this repair is somewhat expensive. Horsehair should be changed regularly depending on how often the bow is used. Horsehair can wear and tear and also stick together with rosin. If you need to replace the horsehair, seek professional help. and šmytec
