Usually, the best method of controlling these is through the use pesticides and chemicals that are being applied using garden sprayers. Like most equipments, garden sprayers must be cleaned properly if they are to last you a long time. Here are several tips on how to clean a garden sprayer.
Make sure to put in safety equipments first. You will be dealing with chemicals so be sure to keep safety in mind when dealing with them. Put on your rubber gloves, boots, masks, and goggles. Put on worker coveralls as well.
Use up all the pesticide in the sprayer. Make sure that when you clean the garden sprayer, all traces of pesticide is gone. Never leave them unused in the sprayer for longer than necessary.
Don’t clean the tank in the sink. Clean the tank over a dirt area. You may cause chemicals to flow towards waterways, causing harm to the environment.
Release the pressure by unscrewing the sprayer slowly.
Fill the tank with fresh water. Swish the water around the tank to make sure you get all traces of the chemicals out. Then, spray the water out through the nozzle.
Check for clogs on the nozzle fitting. Try to force water through the nozzle with the head removed.
Rinse the tank. After cleaning the parts, rinse the tank several times. Store the tank upside down, keeping the lid open.
