Farm Sprayers

1 Answer

Answer :

Arguably one of the most important equipments in a modern farm is the farm sprayer. Right up there with the tractors and crop dusters, the farm sprayer makes sure that all pests and weeds that may destroy your crops are taken cared of. Farm sprayers are used to efficiently distribute the chemicals and pesticides over a wide area at a relatively small amount of time (depending on the model). Without them, farmers will surely find a large percentage of their crops dead or dying due to crops pests and diseases.

Farm sprayers can be designed as attachments to other equipments. Sprayers such as these are usually placed on tractors or aircrafts, or attached on booms that cover the whole farm area. They can also be trailed behind by machines, again utilizing the use of a boom to distribute the chemicals over as much area as possible. Still, some are individual implements, carried over by farmers, in the form of backpacks or little spray machines. Whatever the form, though, almost all sprayers have the same necessary components:

a tank to contain the chemical mixture, with an agitator and a strainer;

a pump (electrical or mechanical);

a filter;

some valves and pipings;

a pressure regulator;

and finally, nozzles. The nozzles themselves can be adjusted to let out a concentrated stream of chemicals or a fine spray.

Though differing in designs and implementation, all farm sprayers serve the same function: to ensure that crops are safe and relatively pest-free.
