Do not use iron or steel utensils in Lakshmi Puja. Alakshmi is worshiped with iron. So if you see iron, leave Lakshmi. There is no need to ring the bell in Lakshmi Puja. Lakshmi does not have to give Tulsipata. But after Lakshmi Puja, Narayan has to be worshiped with a flower and two tulsi leaves. Lakshmi Puja is usually performed in the evening , but many also perform it in the morning. If you do it in the morning, it is better to do it by 9 o'clock in the morning. After the puja, one has to recite the vows. Something to remember: Lakshmi Puja is performed on the idol , Sara or Lakshmi's jump. East Bengalis usually worship Lakshmi in saras or idols , while West Bengalis worship Lakshmi in rice bowls or ghats. Some have special family Lakshmi symbols. They will worship Lakshmi in whatever they have , or whatever rules they have. Before the puja, clean the place of worship and light the incense lamp. At the place of worship, draw Alpana with Lakshmi's feet. You must draw a Lakshmi's foot next to the pot. Do not be distracted or talk to other people during worship. Keep your mind fixed on Lakshmi. If you say something else during the puja or if you are distracted, it is better to worship Lakshmi by reciting mantras. But if Lakshmi Puja is performed sincerely with one mind, the puja is completed without any mantra. Of course, if initiated, worship is also done in Gurumantra. In particular , remember that people who are experienced in mantra recitation and puja rituals should not worship without mantras. Worship without mantras is only for those who are inexperienced. Lakshmi Puja can be performed only on Thursdays. He does not have to judge the date stars. So those who are expatriates should not worship their Indian or Bangladeshi time together, they should do the same in the country where it falls on Thursday . Moreover, in the scriptures , there is no rule in exile. So if you are an expatriate, you can worship Lakshmi on Sundays or weekly holidays. In that case, before the puja, apologize to the mother and say , mother, I could not perform puja on Thursday , do puja today. If you are from India or Bangladesh, you will do Thursday worship on Thursday.
