Turn off the switch. If you want to be extra-careful, put on a pair of dry rubber gloves. If you want to be even more careful, turn off the electricity router.
Get up on a wide, steady chair. Have someone stabilize
Try to change the light bulb during the daytime so that you’ll still have light to work with.
Turn the light bulb off and leave it turned off for an hour or two for it to completely cool off. Handling a light bulb immediately after being used may burn your hands.
Use your fingers to lightly grasp the light bulb by its largest section. Do not insert your fingers in the light bulb socket. Slowly but surely turn it counterclockwise. Continue turning it until the light bulb has been released from its socket completely. Put the used light bulb on a stable place that won’t let it roll off and break on the floor.
Get out the new light bulb and align it properly so that the thread of the socket fits perfectly.
Start turning the light bulb clockwise until you’ve fitted it snugly in the socket.
Carefully step down from the chair, and try out if you’ve installed the light bulb properly. If it doesn’t turn on, turn the electricity off again. Remove the light bulb again and reinstall it, making sure that the thread is fixed securely.
Dispose of the old light bulb responsibly.
