Clean the mirror and remove any debris using rubbing alcohol and a clean towel. Concentrate on the area where you’ll cut it Take note that even a small amount of dirt found along the score line may cause the mirror to break.
Protect the back of the mirror by using a cloth towel. Be very careful. You can also cover the back of the mirror using contact paper.
Using a glass marker, draw a cut line using a straight edge as your guide. To help you in your task, use a masking tape along the line.
Using oil, lubricate your glass cutter.
With the glass cutter, score the glass. Make sure that it’s on the towel and remember not to exert too much pressure to avoid any scratches. The wheel should always be kept perpendicular to the glass.
Break the mirror at the score line and make sure any debris falls on the garbage bag or can. Any stray silvers off the towel can scratch your mirror and can even cause unnecessary eye injury. To make sure there are no harmful silvers left, shake the towel.
If you are having a hard time breaking the glass along the score, put a drop of water towards at the end of the score line and you can crack starting there.
