Why are chromosomes called the physical basis of heredity ?

1 Answer

Answer :

The number of thread-like chromosomes in the nucleus control the hereditary traits of an organism. In general, the DNA molecules of chromosomes in hereditary transport carry the characteristics of the organism to the actual container and the characteristics of the organism are carried by the genes. This is why chromosomes are called the physical basis of heredity.
