A magnet rod that hangs freely in a certain place is located along a certain direction. When the magnet is released from its position, it soon returns to its previous position. Imagine a plane perpendicular to the magnetic axis of a magnet hanging freely in any place and perpendicular to the surface of the magnet. Such a surface is called magnetic middle layer.
