Firmware Firmware is a type of software. Firmware can be defined as the structural position between hardware and software. These programs are permanently stored in memory and cannot be modified in general. The operation of the computer on-off , start , restart , input and output is controlled by the firmware. The list of information and instructions that are very important and frequently used in the computer as well as operating and turning on the computer, and all the information that needs to be stored permanently on the computer , is permanently stored in the ROM by the computer manufacturer. All the programs , information and instructions stored permanently in ROM are called firmware together.
