Why is it easier to swim in sea water than in river water ?

1 Answer

Answer :

It is easier to swim in seawater as there is more buoyancy in sea water than river water. The buoyancy depends on the density of the flow (proportional). Sea water density is slightly higher than river water. So when swimming, there is more upward force in the sea water than in the river water. For this reason, it is easier to swim in sea water than in river water.

Last Answer :  the density of sea water is more than the density of river water

Description : It is easier to swim in sea water than in river water. Explain.

Last Answer : Ans: The density of sea water is more than that of the river water. Therefore, the weight of sea water displaced by the swimmer is more. Thus, buoyant force of upthrust on the swimmer increases, making it easier to swim in sea water.

Description : When a ship enters the sea from a river (1) It rises a little (2) It sinks a little (3) It remains at the same level (4) It rises or sinks depending on the material it is made of

Last Answer : (1) It rises a little Explanation: On average, seawater in the world's oceans has a salinity of about 3.5% (35 g/L, or 599 mM). Seawater is denser than hot fresh water and pure water (density 1.0 g/ml) because the dissolved salts add mass without contributing significantly to the volume.

Last Answer : (3) It rises a little Explanation: When a ship enters the sea from a river, it rises a little since salt water is denser than river water. As the density of river water is less than that of the sea ... in the river is more than that displaced in the sea. So it rises as it enters sea from river.
