What do you mean by sample space? -Maths 9th

1 Answer

Answer :

Sample Space is the set of all possible outcomes of a random experiment generally denoted by S. For example, when a die is thrown, S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,}. Each element of a sample space is called a sample point.

Description : In a sample study of 642 people, it was found that 514 people have a high school certificate. -Maths 9th

Last Answer : (d) The total number of people in sample study, n(S) = 642. The number of people who have high school certificate, n(E) = 514. So, the probability that the person selected has a high school certificate ... S)=514/642 = 0.8 Hence, the probability that the person has a high school certificate is 0.8.

Description : Is an element in the sample space for tossing a coin and then rolling a die?

Last Answer : I do'nt know

Description : Define Sample Space or possible outcomes.

Last Answer : Ans: All possible outcomes of an experiment are called sample space and is denoted by “S” i.e. in toss of coin the sample space will be two (Head & Tail) & in throwing a die it will be 6 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Last Answer : Answer: B) No. of ways it can occur = 1 Total no. of possible outcomes = 6 So the probability of rolling a particular number (3) when a die is rolled = 1/6.
