Road density is the length of road per 100 sq. km of area. Problems faced by road transport in India: 1. The road network in India is not enough for the volume of passengers and traffic it has. 2. Almost half of the roads are unmetalled which becomes a big problem during the rainy season. 3. National Highways in the country are also inadequate. 4. In the cities, the roadways are highly congested. Most of the bridges are old and narrow.
