Teachers of Reddit, what's something they don't tell you about your job?

1 Answer

Answer :

That the job is so much more than 7am to 3:30 pm and it will consume your entire life if you allow it to. You’re expected to get there early for bus duty, stay late for bus duty, do “duties” during your planning, sponsor a club, attend the ball games, grade at home because you were called to do other things during your planning period. Oh and don’t forget spending your “summers off” (that you do NOT get paid for) going to professional development and prepping for the next school year because it’s not like syllabi and materials and schedules just make themselves.
