Answer :

Azaleas like acidic soil.  Peat moss provides that.  Don't worry about the peat moss now-azaleas don't like their very fragile roots disturbed.  Use a fertilizer for azaleas and rhodedendroms-it's acid based.  That should do the trick.  Just follow the directions on the box of fertilizer.  Don't over feed it.
