Answer :

Sound like too much water getting over to azaleas, I would move the cannas to another area that also like water..........the roots of azaleas are very fibrous and easily damaged by water logging, mulch with pine needles only needs a couple spoonful of slow release fertilizer

Last Answer : Azaleas like acidic soil. Peat moss provides that. Don't worry about the peat moss now-azaleas don't like their very fragile roots disturbed. Use a fertilizer for azaleas and rhodedendroms-it's acid ... do the trick. Just follow the directions on the box of fertilizer. Don't over feed it.
