My Viburnum is growing too tall for the space. How much can I prune it?

You have to wait for the spring....berries should be forming soon for the wildlife.........and be careful this is in the evergreen family...with very sharp shears cut off dead, diseased or damaged branches......be careful not to over do it.  you have to.. cut  spray specracide pruning spray to keep insects from getting inside the cut.
